Group programs

At Mindfulness to Health, we recognise that physical and emotional health are interconnected.

The Mindfulness to Health program is an  8-week program where participants learn skills, including mindfulness, CBT, and compassion skills, to help with common everyday stress, as well as health conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue and pain, and general burnout.  Psycho-education is provided, to better understand the physiological and mental processes of the negative stress and/or pain/ fatigue cycle of presenting issues.  The programs also include specific trainings in evidence-based mind/body techniques.  These techniques are designed to help treat, or better manage your health; to improve the relationship with yourself and others, and quality of life.  There are many practical strategies learned by participants to help take back charge of quality of life, while living with chronic stress, burnout, and/or health condition.

The Mindfulness for Health and Stress programs run at Presence Psychology are based on evidence-based programs developed by Breathworks in the UK (breathworks-mindfulness.org.uk), and on programs first proven to assist with medical conditions, such as that developed by Jon Kabat Zin, Ph.D.  They also include material from evidence-based therapies of Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (mCBT), and the most recent pain science education.

These programs are beneficial for those who are suffering from health conditions that adversely impact quality of life, as well as those just wanting to learn skills to feel more connected and content in life generally.
